The West Algarve around Aljezur is a very green region and the one with the most sunshine in Europe. It has an exceptionally stable climate throughout the year, some of the most beautiful beaches, and various landscape types (see fotos below). This was the playground for the “CI in Nature” Residencies and the 1st Dancers’ Village Festival.
Because we feel the first Dancers’ Village may be founded here (see project), we had created in 2018-2019 a temporary structure at “Sitio da Loba”, a house and land which served as an incubator for the dancers’ village. We organized here the residencies and the first Dancers’ Village Contact Improvisation Festival.
We currently do not have a site near Aljezur.
We will in 2021 and 2022 be looking to organize and finance the acquisition of a land to permanently use for the Dancers’ Village.
